Syllabus
Course Synopsis
Leadership Impact Accelerator prepares and guides participants through the necessary aspects of launching and growing their social impact programs and organizations for lasting impact. Through a small group learning environment that combines teaching, coaching, and practical assignments these emerging social leaders will develop the hard and soft skills needed to succeed. The course is 12-weeks with 90-minutes sessions each week. The ideal cohort size is between 3-5 participants. The cost of the program is $3,600.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will identify and clarify personal and organizational impact while applying measurements as a way to evaluate success.
Participants will learn the cognitive, behavioral, and logistical aspects of leadership for themselves, their teams, and their Board.
Participants will learn the lean start-up method, the value of processes, and how systems will aid in successful, sustainable growth.
Participants will create their organizational funding model and development plans based on industry best practices and will learn basic organizational financial management.
Measurement and Evaluation
We will measure success in three ways. Satisfactory participation (90%), completion of course work (100%), and attain a passing score on final presentation and pitch (80%, see rubric below).

Week 1 - Introduction and Identity
Assignment- Write a personal mission statement
Week 2 - Mission, Vision, and Purpose
Assignment - Complete organization mission, vision, and purpose statement
Week 3 - Impact - Individual and Measured
Assignment - Identify and clarify outcomes measures for a social program
Week 4 - Building and Leading Successful Teams
Assignment - Set desired culture, values, and expectations
Week 5 - Managing People
Assignment - Choose one area (hiring, firing, etc.) to build a plan/process
Week 6 - Board Leadership and Development
Assignment - Identify 3-5 potential Board members and next steps
Week 7 - Launching Impactful Service
Assignment - Create a launch timeline or build a plan for the next steps in the process
Week 8 - Sustaining Impactful Service
Assignment - Select and outline one area a process or system will increase sustainability
Week 9 - Build Your Funding Model
Assignment - Select and outline desired funding model
Week 10 - Fundraising and Grants
Assignment - Identify and apply for one grant or engage with one donor
Week 11 - Know Your Numbers
Assignment - Create a 1-year operating projection based on monthlies or quarterlies
Week 12 - Course Presentation and Pitch
Design and Deliver Presentation: (Jeff Goldfinger Armament U. Program) Present learnings, organization, and make a pitch to funders
